Match progress: emotional swings and control
OG showed discipline. Topson on Void Spirit and SumaiL on Terrorblade created too many threats. Despite the resilience of 33 and Nine, OG took the first map 1-0. This victory was an important morale boost for the team, and they understood that they now had responsibility not only for their own actions, but also for the reputation of the champions. On the second map, Tundra decided to change their strategy, choosing a more aggressive hero composition. They knew that OG could use their strengths, so they tried to take the initiative into their own hands from the first minutes. The team captain, 33, used his tactical skills to control the map as effectively as possible, and Nine, playing his favorite hero, showed excellent results in the early game.
From the first minutes of the match, both teams began to trade blows. Tundra showed great aggression, trying to prevent OG from turning around. They successfully used gankers to catch the enemy heroes in mistakes. OG, on the other hand, tried to stay calm and not give in to the opponent’s provocations. Topson and SumaiL continued to show a high level of play, but Tundra was ready for their actions. Towards the middle of the map, Tundra began to gain an advantage, and at this point they had a good economic situation. They used their advantages to organize attacks on the lane, which allowed them to destroy several OG towers. This forced the champions to act more cautiously and focus on protecting their remaining structures. However, OG was not going to give up. They found a way to regain the initiative by focusing on team fights and synergy between heroes. The important ultimates of Topson and SumaiL began to play a decisive role in the battles. Each battle became more and more intense, and the audience could feel the passions growing.
In the final stage of the map, both teams fought for control of key objects, such as Roshan. OG, knowing that this could be a turning point, launched a powerful attack that resulted in the loss of several heroes from Tundra. This gave them the opportunity to take the Aegis and feel confident. However, Tundra were not going to give up. They gathered their last strength and tried to counterattack. In one of the decisive battles, they were able to catch SumaiL, which was a critical moment. This allowed Tundra to come back into the game and regain the initiative. The battles were becoming increasingly intense, and every mistake could cost the team everything. Ultimately, Tundra was able to win the second map, which led to a tie in the series – 1:1. This was a huge achievement for a team that had never reached this level before. OG, on the other hand, knew that they had to focus in order to regain the initiative.
Match 3 was a real battle of wits and skills. OG chose a more cautious strategy, trying not to make mistakes, while Tundra continued to play an aggressive style. Each battle was filled with emotion, and the viewers could not tear themselves away from the action on the screen. By the middle of the third map, OG began to dominate again, but Tundra, as before, were able to adapt. Every player on both teams showed their best qualities, and each moment became more and more tense. With each battle, the viewers felt that the outcome of the match could change at any second. In the end, OG managed to prevail in this tense confrontation, and they took the lead in the series again – 2:1. But Tundra, full of determination, was not going to give up and prepared for the last match with full concentration. The teams understood that not only was the entry to TI10 at stake, but also the honor of their organizations.
Card 5 – decisive and tragic
Tundra took a risky draft: Mirana, Tidehunter and Void Spirit. OG responded with classics: Topson on Invoker, SumaiL on Juggernaut. It was clear from the start of the match that both teams were playing to their strengths, but their approaches to the game were radically different. Tundra, taking a risky draft, were hoping for aggressive ganks and map control. Mirana with her ability to shoot arrows and initiate fights, Tidehunter with his powerful ultimate and Void Spirit, who can quickly get in and out of fights, created a threat for OG.
From the first minutes of the game, Tundra began to actively control the map. They used Void Spirit’s mobility to find opportunities for ganks, and Mirana with her arrows created a threat in the lanes. OG, understanding this, tried to stay close to each other to minimize risks. Every encounter in the lane immediately became important. Tundra tried to catch their opponents in mistakes, but OG, showing discipline, avoided unnecessary losses. As time went on, the mindsets of both teams began to appear.
